Precautions for Using Electrical Insulating Shoes (Boots)

Electrical insulating shoes (boots) are specialized footwear designed to insulate the wearer's feet from live electrical conductors, thereby preventing electric shock. They serve as auxiliary safety equipment and are worn during work activities.
1. When using electrically insulated special safety shoes (boots), check the voltage rating indicated on the upper or sole of the shoes. Select insulation shoes (boots) appropriately based on the voltage level of the work environment. Low-voltage insulation shoes must not be used as auxiliary safety equipment on high-voltage electrical equipment; however, they can be used as auxiliary safety tools on low-voltage electrical equipment, provided that they are not directly used for contact with live electrical equipment.
2. When in use, you must strictly comply with the regulations of the Electrical Safety Work Procedures (DL408 and DL409). When wearing insulating boots, tuck your pant legs into the boot cuffs. When wearing insulating shoes, your pant legs should not extend beyond the outer edge of the shoe sole, and certainly not touch the ground. The working environment should ensure that the surface of the shoes remains dry.
During use, prevent the sole from being damaged by sharp objects that could cause punctures, cuts, abrasions, or chemical contamination. Regular inspections are required; if any damage is found, the footwear must not be used as insulating shoes (boots).
4. When storing safety shoes (boots) in a warehouse, they should be kept at least 20 cm above the ground and at least 1 meter away from any heat sources. They must not be stored in the same room as acids, alkalis, or other corrosive substances. The warehouse should be dry and well-ventilated to prevent moisture and mildew.
5. Under normal working conditions, the service life of safety shoes (boots) is one year. After wearing them for one year, they should be inspected. If any obvious damage is found, they must no longer be used as electrical insulating shoes.
